History
Sutton School of Gymnastics began life in 1910 as SASSARC Gymnastics Club. It was a very successful gymnastics club which worked from a tiny hall in Sutton, Surrey. Head Coach Peter Moore along with his son Simon and helped by many friends, parents, coaches and gymnasts formed Sutton School of Gymnastics which moved to Wandle Valley School in 1985. In 1990 a purpose built pit was added on to the school's gymnasium thanks to the hard work in fundraising and also the generosity of the London Borough of Sutton and the Sports Council along with many others who made kind donations.
March 2011 10 gymnasts compete at grades 4th and 5th at grade 14 and 1st, 2nd and 4ths at grade 13, plus 3 gold medals for top scores on beam and bars All gymnasts passed most with distinction.
November 2010 LGF Floor and Vault competition, 20 Gymnasts 16 medals, 16 achievement pins.
September 2010 Liz Jones receives LG award of merit in recognition of services to gymnastics within the London region nominated by Women's Technical committee
April 2010 LGF Floor and Vault competition. 2 Gold , 2 silver and a bronze. All Gymnasts came in the top 5 places.
February 2010 Gold, Silver and Bronze at Grades, All gymnasts passed most with distinction.
October 2009 Sutton coaches Becky Jones, Grace Thorne Lucy Sparks and Becky Walker selected to work at the World Gymnatics Championships.
September 09. SSG Founder Peter Moore visits the club to meet coaches and gymnast old and new.

September 2009 Junior coaches Grace Thorne, Becky Walker, Liam Hamilton and Lucy Sparks receive awards for voluntary contribution to the sport of gymnastics in the London Region. Bernie Hamilton and Patrick O'Connor receive LGF award of merit in recognition of services to gymnastics within the London region.
April 09. Sutton receives a grant for £7500 from the Gannett foundation for the purchase of an air track.
In January 2009 Liz Jones took over as the Club Manager/Technical director.

2007 Jenna Walters became English Beam Champion
Simon Moore returned to the club as head coach. Ross Brewer won the Senior Men's British Championships four times in succession from 2003 - 2007. Ross also competed for England at three Commonwealth Games, winning two team Gold medals and one Team Bronze. In 2005 and 2006 Sutton School of Gymnastics Senior Men were British Team Champions.
January 2000 Lia Borrotzu became the Technical Director of the Club.

December 1999 Peter Moore retired from the club .
1996 Sutton School of Gymnastics was represented at the Atlanta Olympic Games by Lee McDermott.
